About Us
Mr. Villeneuve has over 30 years in the computer technology and services industry working with standalone and networked microcomputers, minicomputers, and mainframe systems. He has been cleared to work with many government departments including DND, DRDC, JAG, and PSEPC. He has been an Author and Instructor with Learning Tree International since 1993 where he has developed seven courses for Instructor led, Computer Based Training, and e-Learning initiatives.
With his extensive background in Network Operating Systems environments, Mr. Villeneuve specializes in assisting organizations make their heterogeneous networks more secure. Mr. Villeneuve takes a unique view to the information and technology security issues facing most organizations today, and will increasing face in the future. He has developed "1-2-3 Steps To Secure" methodology that includes the following:
· Security to Process: where we use the extensive security analysis methodologies to review all organizational assets and processes surrounding them that may have security implications.
· Security to Technology: where we use the most extensive vulnerability assessment, policy compliance, and network management software in the world to keep our client's information and technology assets secure from threats inside and out.
· Security to Content: where we use sophisticated knowledge publishing and learning software.
While Mr. Villeneuve’s early career specialized in cross-platform network operating system integration the last ten years of his career has been focused on helping client build resilient systems that are technology and business recovery smart. All too often he has been called in as a consultant to help an organization recover from a disaster to which they have no existing plan or strategy. He has also been involved in the application of change management processes in order to introduce the mandatory requirement for DRP/BCP components of any change in the organization’s technology and business processes.
Since 2002 Mr. Villeneuve has specialized in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Services. He began by using it for document management and team collaboration within his own NOS consulting business. His clients quickly saw the value of Microsoft SharePoint and began asking him to design, development, implement, and train people on the use of this powerful platform. He has implemented SharePoint site reviews and upgrades for Transfrieght International, Yukon Energy Corporation, Department of National Defence JAG, and International Development Research Centre to name just a few clients. He has received certification from Microsoft on SharePoint products and services. As Learning Tree International began to provide SharePoint based training Mr. Villeneuve was one of their first Instructors and now teaches a majority of their SharePoint 2007 and 2013 offerings backed by his extensive in the field experience.
Mr. Villeneuve has also authored two McGraw-Hill Computing books: “Networking Technologies A guide to passing the Novell CNE Exam”, and “NetWare to NT – Integration and Migration Complete”. He has also authored several Ottawa Citizen computer-based articles over the years.
